That would be an excellent idea! Would love to see it.

Do you think that DC has a deal with aftermarket suppliers? Maybe they go to them and say "look guys, we are going to make an awesome product here but we'll do some things half assed and then refuse/make it difficult for people to claim warantee on them. There's a great opportunity for you blokes to make some easy fixes for our half assed cost cutting excercises!".

It's a conspiracy!

Anyway they're a bit flat out til Xmas, but he has asked me to bring the Jeep back early Jan for 2 hrs tops. He will pull both of my pipes out and make up dummy one out of angled silicon pipe and straight alloy.

He will pass on to his mate who make complete silicon tubes elsewhere.

This is some of his top grade tubing (40 PSI) and is triple reinforced.

I didn't mention numbers, but he is happy to get it made. He wasn't definitive on pricing, but hopefully around the $250 for both. Pictured is a sample of the pipe. even has he right logo CRD

Onya Steve. I'd be in for a set of two from these guys, too. Can they do them in black, for a more factory look?

just a quick update on the custom pipes. I dropped into CRD yesterday hoping to get the pipes done but due to a some of his mechanics taking some extended leave they were unable to do anything.

I am booked in for 8.00am tuesday 20th of January.

Sorry I didn't read every thread word for word But Sameco would be the way to go I know the KJ oem turbo hoses are around $400ea. The sameco ones are less than that for both with hose clamps and postage. and the sameco hoses have a protective oil resistant liner built in to them and you should never have to replace them again.

I know most of you are still under warranty but once that runs out you will be up for new hoses every 40k. It will take a bit to get them made so it will pay to get the ball rolling now. Have a look at the group buy in the KJ section if you have any doubts.

I looked at using pipe and elbows but with the amount the diesels shake it will probably break or break something else

Nudge 22 these pipes are triple reinforced silicon that don't allow oil to penetrate and weaken. they are rated to almost 3 times the level of boost generated in the JK.

pricing at this stage hasn't been set but indications are that under $300 for both is on the cards.

I suppose one confidence-inspiring thing is that the turbo itself presumably comes as part of the VM engine, so Jeep don't actually touch it - Jeep only attach the pipes.

That is very interesting what you said about the pipes expanding under boost. I felt around for them in my car and found some flimsy feeling soft rubber pipes. I though they couldn't possibly be the turbo pipes (handling 13psi or so) but now that I read your post they probably were! Absolutely amazing. They felt like about 2mm thick rubber!

Will be interesting to see if the silicone pipes do improve performance at all.
