I think they keeping it quiet so that the current supply of tj's go out the door.. If they start hooting at the new model, then they'll keep a lot of stock..

I wrote this email Thursday 25th Jan and got no reply:

Simon Johnson,

Im very disappointed with Daimler Chrysler and my local dealer for the lack of information regarding the 2007 JK Wrangler. I placed my order for a 2 Door Rubicon a few months ago now and put down a reasonable deposit of $500 considering I had no idea of Australian Specifications and or Price or delivery dates. I guess this email is out of frustration because being left in the dark is far from an enjoyable experience. Now approx. 8 weeks out from a ballpark delivery date and still nothing from anyone about this car. Please do myself and all who have faith in Jeep a favor and inform us of all the relevant information before we all run off and buy something else. Any information would be greatly appreciated at this time. I have never had such a uninformative preorder of a car in my life.

Sounds like a reasonable email. Even if the spod at the other end didn't have the info, the least they could have done is reply and let you know. I'd be tempted to call DC and speak to their public relations dept...emails can get, ahem, deleted. They can't ignore an irate potential customer!
