Default Skwakes 97 TJ (rescue) and build up

Havent done much to the Jeep this year as I have been Living in Melb with no garage. I fitted a LED rear light -

Recently moved to a new place with enough room to do a little work on the Jeep so with renewed motivation I purchaced some new Rancho RS9000XL shocks from Tony at USA4x4 to replace my old stuffed ones, fitted them today and have been playing with their settings. Pretty happy with them!

I have a heavy duty steering/tierod kit that I have had gathering dust to install at some stage too. Might ask if anyone has some tips on the main page.. Shouldnt be too difficult though.

Also have a rock light kit I have had sitting around for about a year to install also

i haven't done a HD steering kit but ive replaced all mine with stock parts just measure how much thread u have on all the original tie rods and mark the new ones the same scew it all up drive up and down the drive way (steeringwheel straight) and adjust it untill it goes straight without pulling to one side then go get a wheel alignment mine was out by only 5 degrees

Yeah, I mean I have had all the current gear off and back on again, I didnt adjust anything while they were off and didnt have any probs, so Im guessing its just a job of measuring up and getting it the same as whats currently on there. Postponed it till next week anyways, I fitted my window washer spray nozzle that I had been meaning to do since I installed te Poison Spyder hood louver. I can wash the windows without a cloth once again!!!

the wheel alignment was only out by 5 degrees however as Andrew just pointed out if id has measured eye to eye and made sure it was exact i would have been allot closer i just marked it rough and smacked it on and got it close enough i could drive it down for a wheel alignment

What I meant is exactly what was out 5 degrees? Toe or castor?
On a TJ once you get the steering wheel centred by adjusting the draglink you can only adjust toe in or toe out via the tierod. If you have adjustable control arms you can also adjust castor (which will also change pinion angle) but I suspect most alignment places wont be unbolting control arms.
It is a very basic car to do a wheel alignment on.

Oh, sorry skwake for hi-jacking your thread.
