Default Floor!!

Wouldnt like to dampen your plans , but have you checked out wether the floor will carry a vehicle i.e your buggy , some of those pans are absolute crap and in most cases built in a very competive market and from expeirence the floors dont have much strength, cant mention names on here , but if it is build by one particular company i would be concerned!!!

Have you contemplated external storage for the fuels and lubricants? I.e. a couple of racks for jerry's or a storage bin under a vacant side of the pantech.

What no pics of the cabin yet? very slack!
Yeah I was concerned about those blue bins popping off, but now that there's weight in them I'm not sure.. I was going to go for a drive and lock Troy in the back and get him to keep an eye on how everything sits/moves.

As you say, if it's a problem I can rivet them on. In saying that, we have heaps of stuff in our fire trucks that isn't bolted down and it never seems to move despite the thrashing the trucks get, which always surprised me.

Ah I meant to get pics of inside the cab with the UHF fit out, but I forgot will get some soon!

dunno what it was used for before. The rego papers say limited freight capacity to 5000kg as truck is fitted out as ice cream truck. So I'm not sure what the story is with that. It looks like it was a removalist truck at one stage.

The floor is pretty solid, and I had it beefed up as well. There are heavy I-Beams that run across the under side of the floor every 300mm, then resting on top of that are timber planks which would be around 30-40mm thick. I've then had a 3mm steel floor welded and tech screwed in for additional strength and convenience. I've had the buggy in there a couple of times and it seemed ok.

My only concern would be how the I-beams are attached to the chassis. I've had a quick look, but need to look a bit more before I take it on its first long run.

Normally when they construct fridge pans they use I beams and place insulated panels in between and then a thin sheet of marine ply across the top for the fibreglass to stick to and none of this is very strong certainly not designed for vehicles , but if you have strengthened it then i guess time will tell. When cracks start to form around the floor where fibreglass meets the walls or water starts to leak in from above you will know everything is letting go, honestly i hope all is ok for you as it is looking good and a great idea in theory.

Anything I can check before things start to crack? Or any suggestions on how to strengthen the mounting?
