Some feedback on my STMaxx at 30k, they have been getting noisier, they are overdue for a balance and rotate, so getting that done next week. But the front right has got a fine crack appearing around the bead, see what the tyre shop thinks about it.

Other than that they have been excellent on sand, dirt and mud. I've hit the sidewall so many times expecting there to be damage and hardly a mark.

But yeah, the noise is getting a bit annoying on long trips at 100kph. I might look at the hankooks next.

No idea really, i've done about 25 thou kms on them, wear is barely noticeable, would need to measure it compared to new to notice.

Really happy with them, quiet and tough - they have picked up some minor noise around 60kph but ive been lazy with the rotations.

Like any load range e / 80 psi max tyre they aren't the smoothest ride, much smoother than the ST Maxx I had before them but not as smooth as highway tyres.

The OEM size / non LT version would be much better in this regard, I think the poster above means 265/60R18 - unless they had them imported.

Yes, my appologies, the 265/65's were 17's on the Commander, the ones I've put on the WK2 are 265/60 x 18's.
Good pick up SnakeDoctor, I could have been sending people, on a wild goose chase.

Default how big

Anyone put in anything bigger in a wk2 than 275/65R18? Feels like there is heaps of room in the guards with height but cornering seems problematic. the tyres in the pic are Nitto grapplers but only have about 5-10k klm left.

After 30,000km on Hankooks I am looking for something else now. They have not worn well towing a large van and after 2 punctures in a week on gravel (without the van, and with lower pressures), I'm prepared to call it a failed experiment. Those two punctures weren't the first either. Talking to a rural tyre place, the boss there recommends Maxxi 700 Bravo, says they are tougher than the Mickey Thompsons. I think I just need the toughest mothers and disregard road noise, price, or any other consideration.

I'm looking at getting Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Have read some good reviews, will see how they go.
