We have been testing the Rugged Ridge HID's on our JK for about 3 months now and I am very impressed with them. They are what are described as a Euro beam which means they are a mid distance beam which means a good spread close in to the vehicle while throwing out what I'd say to be approximately a 5 - 600 metre beam. http://www.ozadventure4x4.com.au/node/91
I agree with this - my only gripe with them is the ratchet system used for adjusting the pitch of the light is a little coarse, so the lights are always too high, or too low. I've made up some little shims to get the angle I want now.
Fitted some Rugged Ridge Soft Top Quick Disconnects. Well made items. Instructions say no drill but unfortunately Jeep don't drill all there holes where they're meant to be

Certainly glad I went with the d44, it's not like a JK front d30 would have a lot of miles on it either, must be unhardened mild steel gears.
