Easy there Rollins, stay away from the Ebay gear. I bought a new 24L SRT direct drive for 99 bucks on special and adapted my own 150LPM compressor. In total it cost me just over 350 for the lot including comp, hose and fittings. It is a peice of p*** to rig up the pressure switch from the SRT jobby to cut the 12v comp out at 120psi. I gave it a lick of paint as it was blue. If you go ahead with the idea let me know and I will guide you through any problems but really it is easy as.

That is an easy option for sure. I have rarely got anything decent off ebay so am now always really cautious.

I bought some heavy duty relays (80A) for controlling my compressor, one day I will get around to wiring that control circuit up.

Don't forget Easy to use some decent size wiring for these....

It seems to be a low powered unit. I am not sure if that means much but my big mutha compressor uses 47amps, where as the ebay one I think said 23amps. Mine has no relays but I use 8BS cable connected through a 50amp anderson. Should I set it up to use a relay, JJ?

Hmmm, you've planted a seed Anthony.I'm thinking grab a buggered 2HP direct drive to rat the tank, then add one of these from the US.Only draws 18amps.

Would be plenty to pump up tyres on your race bike,4x4,train horns etc.

If I read your previous post correctly that you're using a pressure switch intended for 240v use then this switch will be rated at around maybe 15A which is too little for 12V use, a decent high current relay should be used with the pressure switch controlling the relay.
The cable size that you have quoted should be fine but only just with the compressor in the rear, I run 35mm2 cable from the front to the rear in mine with a distribution block and dual battery controller mounted in the rear and everything connects to the fused block, I then fed my compressor via 4mm2 cable as it is a reasonably short run.
Also don't confuse automotive cable measurements with real cable measurements as automotive wiring sizes include the insulation...
My intention is to have a dash mounted switch to control the compresor which like everything in the rear of mine is removable and simply plugs in including the 240V battery charger....
