I also pulled off for good the engine cover, I had tested temps with it on and off, no great change but the amount of dirt collecting in there was enough to rip it off for good, makes checks and servicing so much easier...........

I pulled the one out of mine late last year and unhooked the wiring to give it all a good clean fine without having any codes pop up

You would only get a code if you stuff up the sensor, the way to clean them is to flush the crud away with canned sensor cleaner, don't use a brush or poke with a stick, just the spray, sometimes it can take a lot to flush it clean, when done hang it to drain and dry, doesn't take long then fit it back in but must be dry ... same with the MAF but in these Jeeps it just needs a spray from a distance really, should never ever try to touch the sensors internals at any time.
Best to remove from vehicle trying to do it in situ will just make a huge mess.

Cheers mate, yeah I dont touch anything sensitive by fingers or foreign objects. I use MAF, Throttle body cleaner spray which suppose to clean and leave no residue, I normally spray till clean, then hang up in the sun to dry thoroughly, cheers fellas
