New springs and tyres is really nice though.
Don't have to go back just for that. Park the Jeep with wheels spot on straight forward.....loosen adjuster on drag link and twist the shaft until steering wheel is straight. Wheel alignment will not be affected as all you are doing is slightly changing the length of the drag to align the steering.

Yep, if you look at post #209 you will see thats what I did, just that I expect to get the whole job done when I pay for something and I really couldn't be stuffed crawling underneath as it's been around the 40deg C here but it annoyed me so I got dirty.
I do nearly everything myself, job gets done quicker, cheaper and when you have a nice shed it's usually a pleasure.

Oh and when you do that adjustment better to have the engine running so the power steering is going.

Had a mild panic earlier today, pulled up in shopping centre car park and shifter went all tight, only move in D,N,R, no park and couldn't remove key , has happened before so this time I didn't shut engine down.
After using a little bit of force moving the lever around it finally cam free again, might have to pull the shifter apart after the holidays, something must slide in a track which gets mis alighned or something.
Anyone been down this path ?

I had this awhile back there is a little solenoid that locks up and stops you moving into park. It is at the front of the shifter on the passenger side if you pull the plastic off which makes it easy to check if it is the problem or not.

Yep, had this a month back after putting the new TC in.

Your shifter cable is under the plastic cover and needs to be adjusted or put back in the slot, and adjusted. It was quite straight forward really.

I can't remember where exactly but I think I looked up WJJEEPS and the FSM.

Last time it happened I pulled the console out and everything was all good, that time I had shut down the engine as the shifter had locked up which meant I couldn't start the damn thing, ended up forcing the issue and all came good, thought the solenoid might have been the issue. Last time I found a plastic thing that fester recognised as a play thing ????????

Have had a good squiz at the bible and it must be the damn shift interlock cable gumming up I think, or part of the mechanism due to the resistance just moving the lever which in turn would block going into park, well it's all good now and since I'm going away, will stick my head in the sand till I get back and if it craps out at the wrong time I'll probably end up with the Ute that I want.
