I had some nice fat ones so they seem to fit snugly, have to head to Melb in a hurry so will get them tested out. Did the quickest oil change ever this evening, most oil Ive ever used about 10 lts, around 7 in the donk and 3 on the ground after I knocked the drum off the ramps.

In my search for which damn bearings and seals are in my diffs, I have found and added a link to Everything 2.7 which gives you the Dana/Spicer Diff parts listing, you will need your BoM number from your diff tags to get the right numbers for your diff. http://www2.dana.com/pdf/X510-6.pdf

This page has a number of links for Diff parts lists for other vehicles as well, could be handy. http://www.drivetrainamerica.com/p-4...haft-seal.aspx

Since nobody could tell me the actual numbers for the rear axle bearings, I have done heaps of research including a few bearing shops who as one said bring in the axle and we'll match em up, fair enough but they might have to order them in, so I was pretty sure and ordered a set from Rockauto even though they aren't listed under the Grand Cherokee, bingo they were the correct ones.
So if you want a set you need a Timken Set 31 which is the bearing and lock ring as well as an oil seal which is Timken Seal 2146, now the Set 31 doesn't come up on Aussie listings so if you get them from here you will need to check out Everything 2.7 it has been updated with all the numbers,. Most assuredly need a 10ton press at least my little 4 ton rig died.

Rockauto the set 31 was US$19.55 and the seal US$6.19, freight US$19.07 so US$44.81 all up which makes it AUD$60, I hate the exchange rate , 3 days to get to Brisbane 15,000km, 6 days to get to my place 120km away.

Well the Jeep is sold so while I will still be dropping in here from time to time if you need to update anything on Everything 2.7 and I'm MIA try a moderator or Jimmyb they should be able to update the thread.
It's up to date as of JUN 15.

or do i just drop the oil and put precisely 5 ltrs in and hope for the best?
thanks in advance if anyone can help.

There is a dipstick available to show you the height of the oil essentially from the bottom of the PAN. A piece if wire can be used to measure this height.

You need to check the temperature of the transmission with a DRB3 and then measure the height to check all is good to go.

If in doubt measure what you take out then add back the same volume and you'll be good to go.
