Default Bleeding air from the diesel lines 97 xj-td?

May be a silly question.. if I've disconnected the fuel lines and got air in them how do i bleed the air bubbles from the line ... just trying to diagnose my starting issue and when it does start seems like its being starved of diesel and after rough idling it stalls ..

Keep 2 fuel lines loose, try to start for some seconds, stop the engine. Tight theese lines, loose the other two. Repeat starting. Tight the lines.

If you have someone to help - you may try loosing and tightening lines on working engine.

You are talking about the lines between injectors yeah? Start from the rear to the front of engine or from front to rear of engine?

Yeap, between fuel pump and injectors.
Order doesn't matter.

IMHO, the best way is to replace copper washer under the injector.
There are 2 options - thin one 1.5mm Bosch 2 430 105 045 or thick one 2mm Bosch 2 430 105 044. I put 2mm - it will do anyway. And it's better than put old copper washers to fire. (Here in Russia it's usual way to burn (anneal) old washers, not to buy new). Check the surface - should be clean and flat.

And now it's time for me to ask a question (-:

New washer is bent, inner side is higher, than outer (or vice-versa, if you turn washer over). What is the correct way of putting washer to the injector?

I'll answer for myself - 1 variant is correct.

It's realy better to get new washers and not to bother with careful removal old ones, and so on... 15 minutes to remove washer without damaging, 1 minute to crush washer off... And new ones hold pressure at factory specified torque, older ones often requred to torque a little bit more, wich might be the last to the head.

BTW, looked for new Bosch injectors. They cost a fortune! Ford are almost twice cheaper. #1 1011059, #2-4 1011058. Here in Russia.

Hi

Curious as to how you get these washers on and off the injector? Does the washer need to be heated up to slip on? I tried removing my washer and have mangled it.

Cheers
Tom
