Default 2011 cracked Rim

My 2011 limited grand Cherokee recently experienced a rear left cracked rim which was evident when the tyre started to go flat. Now I have never driven the car offroad or hit anything like a kerb or a big rock. I submitted it to my local service centre for a warranty claim and the reply I got back was that the rim was out of round( judge by looking at pictures of the rim) and that I had hit something and so wasn't covered by the warranty! My reply to them was bullshit! I told them I had not hit anything and I would have thought a $1600 dollar rim would be able withstand harsher conditions than which I have experienced ie offroad after all it is a 4wd vehicle and so should have rims to suit! I even said I think the rim went out of round due to the rim cracking and driving around on it normally as they crack wasn't evident until a few days later. Has anyone else had end experience with cracked rims and any info on what it would take to crack one if u hit something?

20inch? Could it have been fractured all that while but only worsened? Is that how much its worth per rim? I'd take the opportunity to look for a set of 18`s giving you flexibility to go off road.

You can buy a new set of 20's from the US shipped for that price.
Also, alot of people are selling their 20's on ebay/gumtree for the same price if not cheaper.

Much better route!

I can't seem to see any cheaper than $1600 and time frame is a factor!

Hi mate,

I spent two minutes looking for you:

eBay - Melbourne - brand new x4 with tyres 20" starting at $1500 (I'd be surprised if they actually went more than that) - http://bit.ly/17AWflS

eBay - Sydney - x4 wheels only 20" - 2014 grey style - $1600 - http://bit.ly/18x3uPg

eBay - Sydney - x4 wheels only 20" - 2012 - $1699 - http://bit.ly/17AWGwE

Gumtree - Sydney - 4x Kumho Solus 265/60R18 wheels and tyres - $1650 - http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/1028814663

Gumtree Woodvale, WA - x4 20" wheels and tyres - $1500 - http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/1029830890

You can use a courier like e-go.com.au to transport them if needed.

Kev.

The 17" AEV rims "Savegre" sold at dealerships in the Spec Ops pack have a +19mm offest and will fit a WK without rubbing on anything, yes they fit over the calipers.

Play hard ball with the spare parts guys and you can get them for $310 a rim.

That gives you the ability to run 285/70/17 tyres with no dramas.
