Yours look much cleaner than mine . Can see that your EGR has been blocked . The existing oil residue could have been there long time (maybe before the EGR was removed )
Doesn't look like something that I would be worried about ...unless you are keen on trying to figure it out where does it come from .

Thanks guys, I gave it a clean after I removed the egr. I’ll keep an eye on it. The air hose is pretty oily as well so need to give it all a great clean!

Some times its the oil & crud that holds it all together

Well ... talking about oil pressure . Mine just started playing up . Presumed that the oil pressure sender is the culprit I've changed it but still no good .
Changed filter and oil ...still no good . Got to pull the sump down and check what's happening with oil pressure relief valve .
Hope the pump is ok .
Simptoms .... oil pressure jumping up and down .

No ..it wasn't the wiring this time . It was the oil pressure relief valve not closing properly (gauge jumping up and down) . Pulled the sump down than cleaned the valve and all good but....I've put in a new sensor switch and I've been sold one with different specs.
Instead of being a 0.9 bar (13psi) they gave me one that had 2.9 bar switching point . At idle it was showing me "no oil pressure".
The box it came with had the right part number but the sensor was different .
After a bit of head scratching took the sensor out and checked it out with a tyre inflator and ohm meter to see at what pressure it switches on-off than I've realised it was either something wrong with it or different spec . Returned it and got the right one ...and all ok .
My setup doesn't have the OEM oil pressure sensor (modified it) instead has a oil pressure switch that sends a ground signal trough a 10 kohm resistor to the oil gauge when oil pressure present ("idiot light" but instead of light I used the gauge itself ).
