Default Dual battery

Hi guys, I’m looking at adding a dual under bonnet battery system. What’s everyone doing and using? Everything I’ve found is for LHD vehicles or with the second battery in the back/boot.

Check out Uneek 4x4 they have under bonnet dual battery trays. They are an Aussie company.

Freddie, depends what you want the second battery for. This will determine the type of battery you need and different batteries require different ways of being charged. AGM batteries that are used for powering fridges and camping gear don't like being installed under bonnets and require dedicated BC/DC chargers that also don't like going under bonnets. If you put a second battery under the bonnet and use a simple isolation relay it will need to match the existing battery in type and size and age as during the charging process the two batteries effectively become one. I run a 130 amp hour AGM in a battery box in the rear charged by a ctek BC/DC smart charger that also accepts solar. You should not put a lead acid battery in the cabin, only AGMs and Lithium are safe to do so. There are good sites WRT setting up 12volt systems in 4WDs, do plenty of research before you buy stuff, it can get very exspencive if you get it wrong

I have an Optima red top already as the primary battery and want to run either a yellow top or a blue top. I have the same setup in my FJ Cruiser.

I've just installed a Genesis dual battery kit in my 2 door. So far it's working really well.

Questions on the Genesis kit.
Which engine do you have?
Where from?
Any problems fitting to RHD?
