Freddie, depends what you want the second battery for. This will determine the type of battery you need and different batteries require different ways of being charged. AGM batteries that are used for powering fridges and camping gear don't like being installed under bonnets and require dedicated BC/DC chargers that also don't like going under bonnets. If you put a second battery under the bonnet and use a simple isolation relay it will need to match the existing battery in type and size and age as during the charging process the two batteries effectively become one. I run a 130 amp hour AGM in a battery box in the rear charged by a ctek BC/DC smart charger that also accepts solar. You should not put a lead acid battery in the cabin, only AGMs and Lithium are safe to do so. There are good sites WRT setting up 12volt systems in 4WDs, do plenty of research before you buy stuff, it can get very exspencive if you get it wrong
