Here's what i made up for mine! The misus is flat out 5 foot tall, so was a must do, so the misus could drive the jeep! Just used some 3mm flat bar and some 20mm square box. Used the bottom of the pedal as a template for the flat bar and to mark the holes. Works a treat!

I thank Macca 2810 for the elegant solution to the height of the accelerator pedal. It is too low leaving the factory and needs to be fixed. I have just done that particular mod to my JK and the difference is marked, and very pleasing. I had difficulty finding the particular plastic wedge in the local hardware outlets, which all seem to be dominated by Bunnings, so made up a wedge from well seasoned jarrah. Thanks again!

damxr, that is a nice solution. Mine was just some 25 X 3mm alloy angle bent to shape.

Still does the job though! (I really have to get around to getting a welder. There are just so many mods you can use them for!)

That's brilliant.

I think its dangerous as standard ... not only can you not pivot your foot to the brake ... you also have to deal with the stupid computer connector and loom.

Zillions of JK owners need your mod!

Hi, That computer connection is also a pain. It gets in the way and makes it impossible to drive the Jeep wearing boots - another stupidity in the design office that unfortunately is common on a number of different Jeep models. I modified mine the day I bought it home.

Cut the mounting off with a hacksaw, smooth off the underside of the frame and relocate the connection in the kick panel above.
Cheers.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one without searching!

I'm looking to also extend the awkward accelerator pedal height on my JK i like the wedge idea or the damxr method but wanted to check with others if this causes issues with the floor no longer being the pedal stop and now it's relying on the plastic pedal assembly to limit travel. Is this likely to break the assembly under full acceleration?
