Hey BlackHearts506,

I just looped a piece of rubber hose from the two ports on the bypass valve, and diverted the fuel rail return flow directly to tank.
Considering most Aus vehicles will never encounter the freezing conditions this design accounts for, the valve should always be in bypass mode to the tank anyhow.
However I was still getting bubbles recirculating through the filter with the bypass valve in circuit. Maybe I should get a new valve on order from MB?

The newer model Sprinters have the water sensor mounted at the top. This would be a good modification to aid accessibility, but would probably require the wiring harness extended.
The water drain valve/plug remains as a source of air ingress. I grabbed a couple of new items from MB, but had to remove it again from the Ryco Z760 filter. Using a borescope down the drain port, the valve seat appears to be very roughly machined. The original OEM filter would likely help as it should be built to the correct spec.

By saying yours is bypassed does this mean you have blocked the entry port in the fuel filter or did you use another type of filter (I know there are some 2.7 CRD owners who use the fuel filters without the water sensor on bottom and less holes on top)

* Ordered from Wanneroo Jeep in WA, in Jan 2024 for AU$144.50

Fitting is 1/8" NPT Male

Gauge indication is:
* 3/8 = 1.0 Bar (14.5 psi)
* 1/2 = 2.3 Bar (33.4 psi)
* 9/16 = 3.5 Bar (50.8 psi)

The new sensor was tested in situ with data recorded by WJDiag. The output span extrapolates to 0.5-5.0 V for 0-100 PSI (0-6.89 Bar).
