Picked up Lucifers FSJ today. Going to be using it for parts for my FSJ and maybe the motor's crankshaft + conrods for my brothers stroker for his XJ!

Thanks Richo, it's getting there.

All the NZ assembled J-Trucks had the 258 straight 6 with a 4 speed manual, but mine has had a 350 Chev crate motor transplanted in with what I think is a TH400 auto. It still has the original Dana 20 TC and Dana 44 front and 60 rear with Tracloc.

It features in the NZ Jeep pickup brochure from I guess 1979, where the reg plate is visible in one of the pictures and it has what I'm told is the logo of Whenuapai airbase in Auckland on the door. It had some sort of fire tending tank on the back at that time, but was always white. Oddly it also has a leather bench seat which is ripped but being retrimmed in a couple of weeks.

The razor grill isn't original; it had a Pignose that I replaced because the look I have always liked on a Waggy that made me want an FSJ in the firts place was the round light/cheese grater grill. I'm hoping to source a 3 piece front bumper to complete the pre '79 look plus a set of hub caps from a US J 20. It's a classic in my eyes, but it still gets used to move my ATV, firewood, lime and even a goat.

Wow nice one Fen....I so like the peak on the roof of the cab i dont know why they got rid of it on the later models(maybe the dies wore out and they used the wagon ones??)...It also looks like you got wider standard rims over there??..anyway nice truck ..if anyone else is interested there is alot more of the NZ J20s on this site and lots of other great trucks a dodge ram and a dodge W200 just to name a few..cheers mick

also does anyone know what the big thing is on the rear hub of the fire trucks it sort of looks like a hub odometer??
