Oh yes it does look a bit tight but I made a few little mods amounting to cutting a bit out so that my knees had room to move and moved the battery back about 4 inches so that it was easier to get in and out. The mattress at head/chest end is 700mm wide which is as in my caravan. I am about 5'9" and the length of the compartment is about 6'2" so plenty of length room.

I think that it will be OK although if I was to do this again I would build around the mattress rather than as I have done, which was to leave as much as it was where I could and make the mattress fit.

I think that there will be enough secure storage inside for food, water, tools, camera etc and there are a few cubbyholes to fit things into. Of course I will have a roof rack for light things and extra petrol.

Anyway when it dries up a bit up north I will get away and try it out. Wanting to do back of Bourke, middle of NSW and Qld to Mt Isa.

I will remember to take plenty of LPG for the fire although I think where I am going there will be a lot of cow shit and bullshit for burning, especially the latter once the election is over.
