Default Emergency JK serpentine belt tensioner option

Serpentine belt tensioner failed moving house. Jeep price was silly and nothing dayco etc in NZ, not even listed.

Cross matched the holden colarado duramax 2.8 2012 and local store had one on shelf! Ripped down, looked perfect, then found locating lug was approx 180 deg out.

3 options:
1) try to dremel (too tight for drill) in a locating hole into the power steering bracket mount (future-proofing it but not precise),
2) try to TIG weld up a few layers and grind/machine a lug in (would have to do every time),
3) make a 3mm steel adapter plate (future proof solution for using easy to get holden version). Went with 3 - turned up a 9.5mm lug and welded into plate. You can drift the pulley wheel about 1.5mm further onto the bearing, and there's about 2mm tolerance (to soak up the 3mm adapter plate) Works well.

DAYCO part number for the holden option is: 132031.

I know they're not as good as mopar ones, but cheap and available here (and only a 15min job to change).

I am the least experienced to advise you on this. Generally, an original tensioner is the recommended one. There are plenty of non-genuine tensioners on ebay you can get shipped from AUS. Another option is to check if you can swap over the internals.

I think I got one for my '08 3.8 from Rockauto when I broke mine.

Made a temporary fix of the old one by sticking it back together with some aluminium reinforced epoxy. (Devcon) Lasted long enough with no issues for the replacement to arrive.
