Default XJ Front seats cramped.

Ive recently purchase a 2000 XJ, this is the 4th jeep i have owned, and the 3rd XJ ( however it has been about 10 yrs since my last XJ)

My last 2 XJ'S were pre update models and i cant recall ever feeling so cramped in the drivers seat.

There does appear to be the necessary adjustment to slide the seat back far enough and i feel im sitting too close to the dash.

Im not a tall persom (6ft) and as i said cant recall feeling like this in my other XJ'S.

The passenger side has the same amount of limited adjustment, so im guessing this is just standard, however has anyone playing around with the seats and been able to get extra adjustment so the seat can slide back further?

Thanks

I have heard of people making a spacer that moves the front seats back.
Are your front seats electric or manual?
