I don't think that the 3.8 alters much with mods suggested. Headers will probably improve torque at the lights rather like putting headers on my VW1972 1600cc. U have to decide whether the marginal gains that u may get is worth the money. From memory the RIPP headers r ok but I think that people were reporting cracked heads etc if not torqued properly. I will still leave my 3.8 alone. it does what it does.

No argument from me there! That is basically the point of what I was saying. For all that I did, somewhat less pinging up steep hills in hot weather, & being able to hold 6th on slight inclines is the only difference I can see. Still have to drop to 3rd usually going up the mountains. Not even enough of a change to make any difference there.

Nothing worth the cost for the change in power or economy. It's only justified if you are chasing something else, & then it's an 'Ok, that's nice. I'll take that as well.' kind of side effect.

Did the ripp long tubes bolt straight on. They told me that they wouldn’t fit a RHD Jeep

Don’t know about JK’s, but in my TJ I get the biggest power boost going up hills by turning off my aircon.

Straight on, no problems. The hard part was getting the old Y pipe off.

I had mine ceramic coated before I put them on. The trickiest part of fitting them is trimming the heat shields that are over the originals & which are reused to protect the ignition leads from the exhaust heat.

Who said they wouldn't fit? This is a poor photo looking down on the right side of the engine: https://photos.app.goo.gl/3NPFChhfYeqtsKWW9 Dirty brown heatshield & the black coated pipes underneath. Note the cuts in the valleys & lower edge of the heatshield...

I just bought them online from RIPP... ? They came in boxes marked American Racing Headers, from memory.

Yep! Found the pics!

Having learned, make sure that if you get headers coated, that they block the pipes so none gets into the cats...
The extra boxes were because I got the full system. It's a quite loud at 60Hz & 110Hz in particular. OK in winter, but gets annoying with the doors & roof off in warmer weather. I'd add another muffler or resonator, but need some extra cash first.
