I managed to get the dpf burn done again today once the error popped up.
A few interesting looks in the shopping centre carpark, haha.
On closer inspection, I reckon the elbow piece up by the firewall may be split, kind of hard to tell. Not sure how to get that stupid clip off either without mangling it.

Yeah, it's the elbow piece right up against the firewall. Bit of oily spray on the air intake that runs right next to it making me think it's got a split underneath. It's a ball ache to see in there. The clip on the elbow is an interesting little beastie too, seems a little loose and no way to tighten it, it looks like you sort of unclip it, I like the other worm gear clamp.
Will have to wait until next weekend now though. Bloody work.

Soapy water won't work unless it is pressurised which will only be when you are driving under load with boost. The elbow post turbo has the same clip that is on the intake manifold (well it does on my 2015). I very much doubt that is where the leak is as the clip system is pretty solid. I have hard piped intercooler pipe and my intake weeps at manifold but never had any issues. I reckon it will the be on the silicone bend itself or on a clamp other than the clips.

Well shit. Just spoke to old mate at All Grand Cherokee, told him the symptoms and the new code that popped up relating to the intake runners. He reckons its the intake manifold swirl motor, not common in this year apparently.
2750 shipped for a brand new manifold.
It's not something I wanna tackle on my own, anyone know of a decent grease monkey in the north of Adelaide that is competent at these little diesels?

Well bugger me.
Just spoke to the bloke at BJ Auto, he is doing another one this week, said on these earlier diesels it's and engine out job, later ones you can get the manifold off in the car.
Gonna be around 5k.
