Default TCM Reprograming

Ok, as Dave (valpacer) said at the beginning I need to get my TCM reprogramed for the new ratio. The cost of this is approx.$1200 through the place Dave sent me to & the TCM has to go to the USA. I will have to wait till the school holidays before I can go without the Jeep for that long so in the meantime...

Does anyone know of anyone here in Oz that can do this kind of work? Quite a few engine tuners around but I cant find anyone that does TCM's.

Interesting fact though. CRD's in the US have 3.73 diff ratios as standard. So I was thinking that maybe a TCM out of a US CRD could work.

I have been emailing every wrecker in the states that list a diesel in their inventory but so far nil result.

I have been on the US forum as well, that's where I discovered they have the 3.73 as stock. I even think I have other ausjeep members there.
Anyone have relatives in the US of A that like hunting around junk yards

You could try asking Kypros at Eco Performance Tuning, Sydney. He does a lot of VW and Mercedes. Can do full ECU remap and transmission edit etc.

I'm rather time poor and not keen on packing heavy awkward parts for shipping. If you have a mate or any one who wants to drop by and take them away then they're yours for free ex Brisbane Sth side.
I'll take those parts of you mate, I'm south side Brisbane too!

Ok I have an update!
Ost Dyno in the US said they can do a new TCM for $375usd + post.

Will send them all the details on Monday. I will ask if they can do something about 1st gear, maybe they can get it to hold a bit longer before upshifting.

OST are testing the new TCM before they send it so all is looking good.

Mike has been more then helpful, one things I have learned from him is that the shift points are set a throttle percentage. At about 20% throttle my stock shifts are around 2000 RPM & at 50% throttle around 2700 RPM.

I am getting the RPM set 500 higher so no more dropping down low in the torque curve when upshifting.

Here's hoping it all works butterfly's in my stomach as I am his first CRD
