So it turns out that isn't the engine number for your rego. The one for rego (last 8 digits of the VIN) is on the side of the block near the back.

You can't drive a WH with no front shaft unless your in low range.

Fixed the busted elephant pipe to the turbo. Basically fell apart in my hand.

Thankfully I read this before I jumped in to try! I suspect I've either got a hub or CV at play, seems that its definitely coming from front drivers side but these sounds are always hard to pinpoint.
