Had a bearing let go the other week be careful, i had no play and when it let go it was a handful to hold on to (nearly shook the car to pieces).
Once i got the old one out it seemed ok expect for a faint notch while turning it.
Thanks for the heads up mate, I really haven't been able to confirm its the bearing yet as I need to do some driving without the front shaft connected to eliminate that.
You can't drive a WH with no front shaft unless your in low range.
Thankfully I read this before I jumped in to try! I suspect I've either got a hub or CV at play, seems that its definitely coming from front drivers side but these sounds are always hard to pinpoint.
