I aggree the Compass/Patriots are horrendous, but I feel the worst is yet to come. Anyone seen the new Renegade that is yet to be released?? Kind of like a Suzuki Jimny with heaps of bells and whistles and absolutly no offroad ability. I'm sure you would go further offroad in a Lada Niva.

On road, the KJ wins hands down. But that's not really the point with a Jeep, is it?

I chose the KJ over the XJ purely because I do more on-road driving than off road. It's good for around town, but it's also excellent at getting me just about anywhere off-road that I want to go. It won't be climbing mountains, granted, but it does sand, mud, and dirt just fine.

The size could be an issue for some people, though, especially those with families. It's a considerably smaller car than the XJ and as such storage space is a premium. This isn't an issue for me, as it's usually just myself and my dad in the car and we fit everything in quite well.

The power is sufficient also. We have the 2.8 CRD and it tows like a champ. It has that little bit extra in reserve for when you really want to floor it, too.

So all round, I wouldn't rate the KJ as the best Jeep, but it definitely isn't the worst. In my opinion, that title belongs to the new Compass. At least the Patriot and the new Renegade actually look like Jeeps.

The more plastic it has the less i like it. Many of the new jeeps are not designed to do any off roading. Dirt tracks is their limit. I dont think id ever own a Fiat Jeep.

I like this one. Centre of hub to lip guard is tad over.. ;) but it'll go over pebbles and through puddles. That'll do

An MY17 model I believe, made in Guangzhou
