Default Safety cameras

Are these things just red light cameras or do they do speed as well?

In WA they are fitting out most of the old redlight cameras as dual, they do redlight and speed as well. So speed up to make it through an orange light...and you could get done for speeding and failure to stop at the red!! On a double demerit long weekend, you could lose your license in one false move!
Matt.

most do speed as well these days.

Not sure in other states outside of S.A but our cameras are set at 68km/h to get a ticket (ie 8km/h over the posted speed limit), anything under that and your OK

The one in Shepparton Victoria ~ yes we have one!! Is both. I have been told 53 kph will get you a ticket. Its the Goulburn Valley Highway / Midland Highway intersection. Any one taking the inland way from Melbourne to Brisbane (Newel Highway) needs to watch out unless they take the truck bypass.

Yeah, same up here on the Sunny Coast, they even advertised it on the news recently that they were changing them all to dual mode cams. Now we have just had a stretch of the Bruce Highway setup up with the speed and speed over distance. Two speed cams 16km apart that also read you number plate and calculate your average speed between the two cams...

i recon its even more dangerous having them as speed camera's...theres been 2 occasions now when i have been driving and the light goes orange, where i could make it through the intersection "maybe" but i have jumped on the skids to not risk speeding up and getting caught going through
