Default Tyres again!

After 65K I'm looking to replace my old Pirelli Scorpion ATR's, and can now get them at @$245 each which represenst fairly good value for money I think.
I have been looking at a couple of tyre brands that are on 'special' at the moment; 4 for the price of 3 deals.
One is Hankook Dynapro AT-M at $249 and the other is Nitto Grappler for $250.
I have not heard of Nitto before, but of course the dealer assures me they are ok. Hankook is more familiar to me. Both tyres have a similar tread pattern, something like Bridgestones. Cheap copies? Or are they ok?
Anyone running either of these brands?
If I was going to keep the vehicle for another 2 or 3 years I would consider Bridgestone Duelers ( about $295 ea) but will probably sell it in about 6 months or so and get a WK.

If you're looking at muddies, Nitto (owned by Toyo) and Toyo (both Japanese) are one of the best offroading tyre brands. When you go to sizes from 33" to 37", they cr@p all over American brands, as they're "true-to-size" whereas "all" popular American brands (Cooper, Mickey Thompson, BF Goodrich, etc) except Pitbull, are usually 1" smaller than labelled. Same goes with Maxxis and Hankook's.

In the muddy tyre, Nitto Trail Grappler (and especially Mud Grappler) is way better than Hankook Dynapro MT, both in traction and true size.

I don't want to go to 'muddies ' but A/T are ok for me. The Nitto Grappler G2 gets a pretty good review from most users, but there are still some who say 'quiet' - and some say 'noisy' . The Pirelli Scorpions are very quiet, but I like the look of the Nittos, and at the moment are a bargain at $750 for a set of 4.

Just to put another one in the mix I'm running General Grabber AT2's in a 255/65/17 size which was about as large as I could go prior to getting a lift on my WH.
I've got 50,000km out of them now and they are still looking good for at least another 25,000. Price was around $225 each after ringing around. Good grip off-road and much better performance then the D694 in the mud (we ran these at work for a long time and in my previous ZG). Pretty quiet too with no real noticeable difference in noise on the black stuff.

the thing that puts me off the general grabbers is the weight of the tyre. they are really over engineered [with (from memory) a 5 ply sidewall and 10 ply tread] for a light duty offroad vehicle and i fear acceleration will suffer. However, if you want a reliable bush tyre then this is great for you!

The guys at the tyre shops even comment that they are nearly twice the weight of a regular AT...try pulling a 33inch tyre off the roof without hurting your back!

The AT2's are a lot lighter then the Grabbers. I have the Grabbers & yes they are heavy.
