With the cost of genuine over $1100 I decided try splurge out on a new set direct from USA.
No thanks to globalism in this case, the lighting and wiring were different. Out with the side cutters and soldering iron.
Firstly the indicators were also park lights. Where as we can only have clear lights facing forward.
Next high beam was low beam and finally different globes were required.

DOT wiring

ADR wiring

Wired up and mounted they look a lot different to genuine

Changed ARB park/turn into simply park

I've also used the Narva +plus bulbs for increased output
Hopefully avoiding giant grasshoppers now
I have the same headlights on mine and have always been annoyed at the orange park lights.

How did you delete/ rewire this?

Hey Slippery,

I honestly don't remember which wires went where.
Just poked around with a test light and multimeter until I figured it out.
Sorry mate
I only cut and soldered the lights wiring, NOT the vehicles wiring.
If you're ever in the neighborhood

Default Handbrake

After getting annoyed at the never gripping hand brake
Even after cleaning and adjustment I've replaced the shoes.

Can see after 145kms & 10 years the linings were kerfumfed anyway
(old left, new right)
Disassembly was easy enough (yep famous last words)
So let me say right now, whoever invented these needs a pineapple ...

Usually I'd re-assemble the top half, connect all the springs, and then use gravity and a big shifter to position the bottom shoes in place.
But not with these daft fulcrum thingos falling out everytime I breathed.
In the end I had to remove the console and handbrake lever to jam a screwdriver into the large spring.
This allowed enough freeplay in the cable so my fingers could position the top pads securely in place,
whilst keeping these stupid fulcrums in the correct position.
Only then could I enjoy a few beers watching an argument between my vice grips and the springs.
Whilst under there I also noticed the right hand cable had rubbed through on diff.
Might be something we all need to check

Mine rubbed through too but not a problem now that it has been lifted.

Agree about the pineapple, pointy end first
