Default No dash lights stuck in park CRD 2009

MY2009 CRD JKU - manufactured late 2008

Hi all, the missus got stuck at the shops today in our trusted jeep... The jeep starts and runs but won't come out of park without depressing the override switch.
Also the wipers and headlights come on with the ignition and stay on. I drove home without any issues, no indicators or any controls from the stalks any ideas?
I've checked all the fuses, 2-3 earths under the bonnet and the two earths on the driver's kick panel, no joy.
I've got a second JK CRD same year, I switched out the fuse box/TIPM thingy but no change.....
What next? Lucky I have the other jeep (runs but has suspected bearing issue) so I can swap out any bits and pieces...
Anyone had this prob? I did a search found something similar which was diagnosed as being bad earths.
Due for my clockspring recall, could it be that?

Thanks in advance, Dean

Last time this happened to my jeep it was a loose connection under the drivers side dash. Pull the panel off under the steering wheel and reseat connections you find

If all connections you can reach are secure and clean (maybe disconnect a couple and check for surface dust) pull the negative terminal off the battery for 20 minutes and reconnect to restart on board computer

OK guys, problem fixed, it's my instrument cluster. Swapped it out with another one (I have a project CRD) and it fixed the problem... Now I need to find a good instrument cluster for a CRD.
