Legalities? Design? Is it necessary?

Legal = Depends on the Jeep.
Design = Depends on the Jeep.
Necessary = Depends on the usage.

The interesting question is why don't more people pay attention to ROP in ther build ups.
All too often we see blokes (& blokettes) that want to make a big lifted jeep for the ultimate offroad beast, but aren't even in the slighted interested in talking about Rollover Protection....
Go figure...

Well there you go Toff ~ all we ever wanted to know answered in
one post !! ~ next topic please!!

Now to be a little serious.

Legal ~ If one was agreed to by Jeep it may open the flood gate for claims & end up as a recall with all soft/plastic tops getting them.

Design ~ Would need to be fully engineered. Probably would need Jeep involved, if they were, then probably the thing would become standard at great expense to the purchaser. There would be a legal liability associated with the design.

Necessity ~ Other mods that need engineering could make it necessary. Jeep would need to get involved from a design perspective. See above. On standard roads it must have been decided it is not needed. Once you start using anything for a purpose other than what it was sold to you for (road going car) the ball game changes.
