Default Jamieson Tracks

Hi All,

I'm heading to Jamieson (Vic) over the weekend and wanting to get out on some of the tracks out there.

My JKU is still standard as I have only had it for a short while now.

Anyone know which tracks I could tackle without too much effort?

Was looking at Sappers or Axe tracks. Any thoughts on these?

Thanks in advance

Mt Terrible track (SW of Jamieson) is easy and nice. You can head west from Terrible down to Enochs point road then on to the big river road, all easy and scenic.
If you haven't already, grab the memory maps PC and/or mobile apps with the free topo maps and plan a route- it may be easier for others to tell you conditions of specific tracks

Was up that way last weekend. Should be fine pretty much everywhere unless you look for trouble. Very little traffic and quite isolated in places. Mount skene is worth a look, easy to get to was still snow up there last Sunday. I did weber spur track, black river track, lazarinis spur track, McMillans track, middle ridge road, mountain ash spur and a few more. I would take a stock jk anywhere I saw. If going by yourself take recovery equipment. Couple of bog holes and slippery bits but nothing out of the ordinary.

Thanks for the replies guys I will sure plan a route to drive and include some of your suggestions. Heard on the news that there was snow up at Mt Buller yesterday - it might be chilly

PS. Don't I need to arrange a permit for Mt Skene?

Sappers Trk is fine but watch the river crossing at the South end, can be very deep. You can start from the South end and check it out first.
Mt Terrible via Politis (?) Trk and surrounds is a good drive, very scenic and a few steep challenges.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was concerned about - seen it on some of the YouTube videos.
