Unhappy help :( what is this leak!? *PIX INCL*

Hi Guys

Just took these photos, changed the motor oil about 2 weeks ago, all went smooth, doesnt seem to be a problem.

*not sure if relvant but today when I came to a complete stop and started turning right while slowly accelerating to make the short turn there was quite a metal groan under car or I thought it was under the car... I checked if I ran over and dragged some plastic/metal but nothing was there* Could be just a coincidence but thought i'd mention it :S

Please disregard oil patches on the ground...they are OLD

All these fluid levels are at normal levels

*BAKE FLUID
*MOTOR OIL
*POWER STEERING FLUID
*COOLANT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS AT MIN LEVEL (mechanic said lots of cars like to run on min level in bottle) never had coolant leak or overheating problems
*GEARBOX FLUID seems normal

Noticed this greenish like fluid under left side of car, as you can see on pics can't see where the leak is coming from if it even is a leak? I mean it's not dropping on the floor or anything but I never saw that there since I owned the car.... (2years)

HALP

PIC #1 Fluid is on opposite side of picture taken, starting from left rear wheel along side towards front.

PIC #2 Just a pic of motor oil change (haven't yet changed 3 O-rings inside oil filter adapter so it's always been leaking 2-3 drops a day for a bout a year lol.

PIC #3

Leak is far left as you can see

PIC #4 IDK?

PIC #5

PIC #6

PIC #7 almost same as pic #6 but lil clearer

Any ideas?

Should I drive this to work tomorrow morning?

have you just had work done to your diffs? and is the fluid oily?

from where it is i'd say it is just rear diff oil that has come up your breather and into the "chassis rail" where it exits. nothing bad, but if you are really concerned pop the bung out of the rear diff and check the level, it should just trickle out of the filler hole

I think its cause your cars upside down.... sorry coudnt resist

I think I got weaping from aircon on my chassis rails sometimes but thats more oily hey. I also just remembered sometimes one of the diff breathers is pushed into the chassic rail. Look for any hoses that go into rail.

Green is coolant btw

TheMain oil leak looks like it is coming from the rear diff breather that runs down inside that side of the uni-body chassis. One of the shots to me also looks like the rear main seal on the engine and runs down the Tranny pan.

No work done on rear diff mate, this level checking seems difficult, where exactly am I to pop?

Lol @ upside down, yes aircon was just regassed and hasn't had problems in 10days (had leaks earlier which are hopefully fixed) ran it today for 10min but I don't think it could create so much weaping?

Ok so a few people mentioned diff, it's just slighty green oil and to be honest it's not very oily.. I mean when I wiped it down all that was left was half dried residue and mainly black dust. Mechanic told me a while ago that I had a very minor rear main seal leak, could this have developed alot more? (6months ago)

Hi ChrisXJ

Have you recentlly extended the rear brake line? If so and the rear splitter block was changed ensure the hight of the block in the same as the origional. If not space the valve that goes through the block in to the diff housing with a couple of washers. It's definitlly diff oil though. You're left chassis rail is full of it now.
I am going through the same thing right now just got this hint on another post.

Cheers
Lukas
