I've been up 4 times in the past 6 months now. First time it has not been graded and had some pretty deep ruts, time after than was graded and could take a sedan up there. time after that had been raining for a few weeks and was extremely slippery at the bottom last time very dry and flat again...

Duck Creek Road is one of my favourite 'easy' drives because it is just so pretty. In fact, the only scary bit of the drive is the final bit of blacktop up to or down from O'Reilleys as there is always some comedian who thinks they can take those blind twisties at high speed. There are also quite a few snakes. Mostly browns from what I have been able to tell.

While not much of a challenge there is a nice little short cut track with several metres of very steep climb on the way up from Kerry Road, halfway up the mountain on your right. Can't miss it. There's usually a few mudflaps littering the base.

Also, bonus points for anyone spotting the large sea anchor.

Are you refering to the bit of track which almost looks like concrete?

That's the one. At the top of the little hill there is usually a deep muddy rutted bit, and an easier go-around.

I see what you guys mean by an easy drive plenty of AWD cars using the road, guess it would be a bit different after some rain though. Great road and the views are fantastic, we will be keeping this one on the list to do when we have overseas guests.
