Do you use one and what weight is it?
We presently lift a Hobie Outfitter Fish duel kayak using a couple of carpeted timber rails fitted to the standard Rhino racks (Hobies have a bulbous & wide bottom - didn't fit in the standard kayak carriers) We carry it on its base and fill it with rods & gear - great
Weight wize it's fine at 33kg and length at 3.9m approx - works well. But we have found for rivers (eg the Snowy going into Marlo - Victoria) at times it can be a bit daunting as it runs so fast.
As the maximum total roof weight is 68kg getting the right combo... reasonable weight v stability in the water as well as some strength of build seems to vary a lot. Just wondered if someone else here has come up with a breed of tinny that filled the bill.
Cheers,
Elle
