This is what i've been up to with my XJ this week:

Set of sexy black sunraysia style rims:

Next was the install of the headunit. It has AUX input, but no USB or iPod connections, although it does have rca out which will cater for the bass in the future..

I purchased the stereo fascia from ryda.com.au the wiring harness can be bought from here also but i was too cheap and I hacked the loom. Not too worried as i wont need the stock unit in again. I found a great wiring diagram at http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/DCP-Wiring.pdf which came in handy.

And lastly was the speaker replacement, also from ryda.com.au i picked up 2 sets of 5.25" speakers for only $85 inc postage.. So far so good, they have great sound, and no distortion when it really gets cranking..

Well, after making sure the last of my list of things to do for roadworthy were done this week (front bumpstops, transmission mounts and all new rear brakes), I got a permit from QT and drove my XJ into town to get the 2 bubbley windows stripped and re-tinted.Picked the XJ up at 12-ish and took it back to work for a roady.Unfortuantely failed due to:

Rear main seal leaking

Oil filter leaking

Spotties not hooked up

Front control arm bush split

Rear spring dropper bush split

l/h/r door seal has a hole

Hoodlining dropped

Swaybar upside down??

Both engine mounts starting to crack

As much as I'm unhappy that it didn't pass, I'm not overly shocked or surprised by the faults. They are all pretty common repairs. So, I'll get the final things sorted out and then I'm good to goGotta do some reading now though
