Im suprised more people havent raised this as an issue.

how does having a lower tyre pressure reduce this clearence? If anything at lower pressure wouldnt your tyre diameter be marginally smaller giving slightly more clearence?

A change in tyre shape due to lower tyre pressure is only likely to manifest itself where the tyre is in contact with road/sand/rock and not in the area you are concerned about.

I'm running 285/50/20s and have had no problems with them rubbing. They are close but the only issue I have is fitting snow chains, due the close clearance, not that I have had to actual put chains in last 20 years that I can remember.

Hi ozrick25,
Yeah obviously the majority of bellying and deformation occurs where the tyre contacts the ground but there is some residual deformation at the top of the Tyre when cornering.
It wouldn't normally concern me but i cant even fit my index finger in between the tyre and the castle nut.
Bit to close for comfort.
If the tyre ever did warp and hit it the tyre would be torn to shreds.

@timsarg,
Yeah, the stock control arms give you at least 10-15mm more clearance than these JBA ones.
