But I really wanna get a 2 door rubicon with hardtop + auto. That is 49k driveaway...
Which is 10K more then i expected....
Hmmm.... might just get a 2 door sports with hard top + auto +air locker (later on)

You sure you have the right price, I have ordered a silver rubicon 4 door Manual ( don't get auto - more fuel, less power) -Y ou should order manual - they are better for 4wd, better fuel effection and power. Price approx $51 on the road.

Just got a call - there will be a 2 door JK Sports at Chellingworth tomorrow. I might pop down and have a look.

Fuel economy ratings :

Rubicon manual - City 18, Highway 9.7, Combined 12.8

Rubicon auto - City 16.7, Highway 9.0, Combined 11.9

Auto uses less fuel.

Would still buy manual though, I'd rather spend the $2k on something else.....

PS : these numbers are for Unlimited.

Yep, came straight out of the dealers mouth!
I have been considering pre-ordering one like 6 months ago, and back then they were estimating the rubicon to cost about 37K -42K drive away....

As for the automatic transmition, from what i have read in various 4wd magazines, such as the Australian 4wd monthly, they reckon, offroad an automatic is better in most situations, except maybe when going down a steep hill.

Regardless I'm toying with the idea of getting a manual, but propably wont...
I'm also thinking of getting a softtop for now.... But I hate the way it looks...
Might just get myself a 2 door sports or renegade with auto and hard-top allready included, and then just add the lockers later on....

I wonder for just touring purposes, there won't be much to gain from the dana-44, and high diff ratios, will there?

As my saying always goes.. Hit that clutch in a sandy situation, no matter how fast you are.. you have a split nanosecond loss of power.. and sometimes, that's all it takes to end up in the **** ahahaha..

Hence why my mates get bogged and I dont.

I'll be getting either a rubi unlimited auto, or a diesel unlimited auto.. until i can take bothe versions for a test drive, i simply can't tell
