Default I'm going to sell my new 2008 JK

Why would I sell such an awesome car?
Because I reckon Chrysler is going to put this->
http://www.vmmotori.it/en/01/00/01/dettaglio.jsp?id=9
into the Rubicon at some stage. Currently the 2.8L diesel that we have in oz does not meet US emission standards because it uses high sulphur content diesel. The 3.0L engine uses low sulphur diesel that will be rolled out across the US by the end of 2007, also Chrysler bought 50% of Motori http://www.vmmotori.it/en/03/00/dettaglio.jsp?id=102
My prediction for the future? A V-6 3.0L turbo diesel Rubicon with 550 Nm @ 2000 rpm...drooooool. An yes, if that happens I WILL be selling my new JK Wrangler.

mate it was general motors that bought 50% of vm some months back, daimler sold down their holding a while back. when did chrysler buy the 50% stake and who did they buy it off?

i reckon that if the merger of chrysler and fiat goes ahead, there is a good chance we may see fiat diesels in jeeps. it makes more sense to me for fiat to use one of their own engines, rather than outsourcing engines for their own vehicles. cheaper that way.
