Angry Not happy Jan

Just got a new grand cherokee and have been enjoying it for its first 800 km.
But then yesterday, the car comes on with the engine light and the oil can light. I was just around the corner from the dealer, so duck in, and they take it to check it out.
They rang back saying it was a known bug, and a new software patch had fixed it. So pick up car and drive a few hundred yards to work. After work, jump in car and dash board lights up.
Now back in shop and diagnosed with more faults and enquiries back to Chrysler and car will be there for a few days?????????? Wtf!.

So, quite pissed off. Have others had this issue.

A few things, has anyone found info on the oil symbol in the car manual? It is in the centre of the dash in the same spot as the door open symbol.
The dealer, said just start and stop the car a few times, that might reset it! Wtf, does it run on windows.
And why was a car delivered with out the latest updates.
Do you realise the the engine issue light comes on orange which is ok, but apparently goes red if issue is really bad. And have to love the manual says it is ok to drive with the engine light on, and the end of the chapter warns that driving with the light on can cause damage!

Really takes the polish off the vehicle

That would be soul destroying. I have no idea what is wrong but would just like to wish you well with this and hope it is solved quickly and permanently. Is it petrol or diesel?

Very disappointing, it's these sorts of problems that continue to plague Jeep & do the brand reputation no good.

And you're entirely correct in saying the software upgrades should have been completed prior to delivery. After all isn't that why you pay $2000 or whatever they charge for pre delivery.

CJD dealers it seems really need a rocket to improve their quality of service.

unfortunately, all car manufacturers have lemons every now and then, and you may have picked yourself one of those...
Best of luck!

I wouldn't be too concerned. It's got some gremlins, but it will be sorted then you will fall in love with the car.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be knocking on the Dealer Principals office saying this isn't good enough etc etc, but it will all be OK.

sounds like it's the check engine light thats coming on, indicating there is a problem with one of the cars sensors. I would be pissed of too considering the car is brand new, but it's more than likely just a gremlin.
