Well, it's going in tomorrow morning for the recalls. I wonder how long they will take to do them..

Took from 8 to ~3. and they did the clockspring. The parts aren't available for the towbar and the passenger airbag didn't get a mention...
They did call to say there is a problem in the wiring of my steering wheel that makes the horn 'intermittent' and it will be $827.33 to replace. The horn is no different from when I bought the car. I have ALWAYS had to press it hard to get it to work, (measured a spring a little while ago, 3.5kg to compress and there are 4 of them), so 15kg of force required to activate the horn at any time.
Maybe there is a wiring problem and one or more of the switches are dodgy. Must look into it & see if that will make it easier to press.

Mines exactly the same, it's so hard to operate I don't bother anymore and just resort to verbally abuse to anyone that's annoyed me. The way they drive in Newcastle, that's most people.

My clock spring failed about 2 yeas ago. Tynan motors charged me over $900 to replace it. I'm sure Jeep will be happy to reimburse me *cough*

Mine failed originally around 4-5 years ago. I still had the original in the shed, so I put it back in... (I replaced it myself after the stealer wanted $1179, part only, for one. I got it for $260AU delivered from jeepsareus.com, back when the exchange rate was good.) So now I have a good spare in the shed!
