As for the trailer connection... it depends on what equipment you plan on using it for. I have 3B&S from the primary battery and get a very stable voltage at the 50A Anderson even when under higher electrical loads. Any larger and I reckon it'd have to be routed under the car as it was really tight on the forward edge of the rear wheelarch cable path. Plenty of people use 6B&S (or less!) and accept the loss, or fail to notice it.

The mob at jaycar said at that short distance, i could use 8 awg. Which is what I had purchased. I also opt for 100Amp breakers to both ends of the battery.
I doubled check "internet wiring guides" and it seems I am within spec using 8 awg for the distance.
Man routing cables at 6 or even 4 awg would be a struggle...
Will update on progress...
What will I run? Only a fridge and probably at the freezer setting. At most camping LED lights or light bars(no plans yet).
No plans of campers or caravans on the horizon, will rewire if need be.
What is the purpose of the manual override switch on VSR? Is it to jump start the primary battery?
If the kickass vsr gives up, then I'll switch to DC-DC setup.
