Hi there!
You can change the angle of your windscreen by loosening the hold down fixtures being 2 over center catches or the big screws. I had to do that when I fitted a soft top to my CJ6 and CJ10 in the past. there will be a corect measurment from the top of the screen to a specified datum point at the rear of the body.

for the first couple of times get the top out in the sun to help loosen it up before you put it on

Thanks for the pointers all.

Well its on now.. i ended up lowering the main hoop by dropping the bolt where it pivots on the tub bracket. This means I would need to slightly trim down the vertical arm which comes down onto the tub corner near the door latches. Left it for now in case it all settles/stretches a bit.

Also used the door latches from a used but also later model top which meant I could use a piece of angled alu on the tub to keep the doors shut, rather than trying to make up a pin type striker plate.. Looks like there is more than one '80+ bestop supertop version..

How much do you want for the pin style latches?

If it fits, I'd leave it s it is. They do stretch over time and if you cut out all the adjustment, you're kinda stuffed!

80-82 I think had the striker latch. 82 on had the pin latch from memory.

Im hanging on the the door latches for now, Colin.

The vertical door frame support doesnt fit as it is too long (now that i've lowered the hoop a bit), so it wont go into the bracket that bolts onto the tub corner..which is fine for now.
