Default WK2 JCG Anderson Plug placement

Has anybody fitted one of these to the subject vehicle, particularly to a Mopar Towbar. Doesn't seem to be a obvious place to position the housing.

Hi guys

Did you use a red arc controller for the Anderson plug wiring or some other type of solenoid?
ARB Geelong advised that the alternator on the WK2 works different? Don't know what that means but he said the red arc was no good and I had to go for the really old basic version of solenoid?

Did they explain why cause my understanding was the solenoid and redarc do pretty much the same thing just better control and surge protection. Even with solenoid you're still running off same alternator. I've read that in cruisers you need the new DC/DC chargers cause alternator output is held back by ECU. Also read on Pathfinder forum they are snipping a signal wire between alternator and ECU to stop ECU limiting output voltage to just over 12volts. If that is why solenoid still works I would suggest that trying to top up depleted aux battery with only 12 volt feed on average length travel time then you are wasting your time.

Here's a couple pictures of where I mounted my anderson plug

The cable just come up through a existing grommet in the floor and connects to a circuit breaker before connecting to the second battery.

Here's where the second battery is located - it only a 60A/H but suits my purpose and its about the only place I could find because I have Quadra Lift

A closer view of the plug for my caravan camera

Brown Dog/Fester I have the Redarc solenoid isolator fitted to my power to the anderson plug. The isolator is fitted inside the battery compartment under the driver seat. Then the cable has been run with the rest of the cables on the drivers side inside the body, up over the wheel arch (behind the carpet wall) under the carpet of where the spare tyre is fitted, and out through the same rubber grommet that the cable for the trailer plug comes out through. The anderson plug connection is bolted to the top of the bracket that the trailer plug is mounted to. This bracket is part of the genuine Mopar tow bar. I had this fitted by Deerings Auto Electrics in Perth, and Redarc is what they suggested. No mention that it would not work with the WK2. Hope that helps.
