In the second photo you can see the lifter that failed. Massive amount of play in the roller and it had turned it sideways so the roller was just dragging 90 deg to the cam..

In the third photo i pulled the sump and a bearing to check if metal shavings had gone through the bottom end but luckily no signs of it at all the bearings are perfect.

I am now going to strip the entire engine and throughly clean before reassembly to make sure there's no metal left lurking anywhere.

Pile of parts is getting taller.

That's incredible wear on one of the cam lobes. I thought roller lifters were kind on cams!!
