As JeanLuke said, camshaft Sensor. Had it too, got it off Rockauto, takes 10 minutes to change. I would get the crankshaft sensor too if you order it form Rockauto.

Rockauto does not have the WJ Diesel and I had to look for the MB sprinter 2.7 diesel since it has the same engine (I think Jason told me that).

And that was after clearing the codes, so it's fresh?
Don't forget you can get that one set due to bad starts.
That sensor is on the left hand side of the engine looking at it under the hood
Up at the back near no5 injector.
Pain in the bum to reach if you're short.
Pull it out, give it a clean, slap it back in and see what happens.
If you were closer i'd tell you to grab mine and give it a go.
While it is running, one of the engine pids is a crank and cam sync, you should see what it is saying.

I'll grab you the toyota fuel head part# tomorrow. I'll be in the shed all weekend, making an oil cooler bypass plate for my KJ

have pulled and cleaned the cam sensor, app shows the cam and crack are synced but still not starting

Put an electric fuel pump in before the filter to make sure no air was getting but still got nothing

the clear hose in red keeps getting air in it even when pressurized, all others seem to not get any air so not sure where its coming from

Is the black hose on the input to the electric pump new or is it the original---this is the hose that has caused drama to my WG . It can look fine but can have a tiny crack or pin hole and since its still on the suck side of the fuel system there will be no visible fuel leak, it just leaks a bit of air in on a random basis.
There is also the possiblity of air leak in the flexible hose at the tank, but none else seems to have had problems with this one..good luck, hope its just the hose.

I was going to offer a visit to the mechanic to help, but, alas, you are >1500km away.
