I keep trying to reframe myself some saying stuff it, go the whole hog!!! You only live once, might as well enjoy it!!!! When I told mum I wanted to get rid of the subi after only about 4 months, she wanted to know what I would own when I am 60??? Only a half paid off car to my name, and the experience of the 1000's of other cars I'd owned for 6months each, and not ever have owned a home..... I smiled and sweetly said 'probably...... but I'll die happy.' She nodded, agreed and told me to go for it!!

Steve

unless youre like me, & dont give a hoot about 'froading and just want to spend money to create a hot looking jeep that you can appreciate for the rest of your life.

not being a snob (well, yeh kinda...) wranglers were born to be modified - stock, off the factory floor - they suck.
Compared to what? Come on you're dribbling now, i bought my wrangler because off the factory floor it's the best - and i don't have to modify it much to make it capable (well, more capable than it already is).

I love my stock jeep - it's awesome for what i want to do.

Wooders, i totally agree. However, i have fitted 31's and have not adjusted my speedo or steering stops. My tyres rub a little bit on my control arms on full lock and my speedo isn't out much at all. I was doing 110klm on my speedo (so i should have been doing over 120klm) and i have had police officers point a radar gun at me and not pull me over yet . So all you new guys, go for the 31's! The problems don't even cause concern! (well, for me anyway!)

Ahh but just what IS the hole hog?
Lift - 2", 4", 6", 8", 10", CoilOvers, airbags....?
Diffs - Lockers, regear, floating hubs, CTM's, Dana60's, Rockwell's, Unimogs....?
Engine - TBS, extractors, Jet Chip, Stoker, Turbo, LS1....?
T/case - C&T SYE, H/duty SYE, beefed internals, TeraLow, 2wd Low, Flipped D300, Atlas, KlineV.....?
Tyres - 31", 33", 35", 37" 40" 42" 44" 49" 52".......
Towing - Hayman Reese towbar, custom rear bumper or Dodge ram with 5th wheel enclosed trailer just for the TJ...?....

This is why IMHO it's important to decide just how far in the "whole hog" you wanna go - BEFORE you start
