Default Help the New kid spend his $$$

Well, new baby isnt off the boat yet, but I have come into some extra $$$ and feel the need to spend

Have about $2500 and not real sure what to start with!

My thoughts are rated recovery points (or are they standard????), an arb bullbar, tubular sidesteps and a set of Lightforce 240xgt's. Do the 240's fit on the arb bullbar??? Am I better to spend the money on anything else first??? Chrome or Black bullbar and sidesteps???

Most of my driving will be around town and highway, but am looking to go bush a bit too and find some mud!!! Also I am looking at heading to Fraser Island just after easter, is there anything that I should be buying first in light of this??? Have thought about spending some of the doe on tyres, but with going to Fraser, might leave the tyres till after that...

Thoughts please.....

Steve

Also.... already have a uhf and decent sounds system ready to go in. Also have a snatch strap and shackles as well as a cheap aircompresser for Fraser and a tiny teeny fold up shovel to dig myself out of trouble or to china...

Steve the first thing i'd do is spend the money on a 2'' suspension kit and some 31'' muddies with some quick discos.

The recovery points on the wrangler suck - but buy some recovery hooks and bolt em on and your set.

that will get you most places you want to go

edit: i just remembered are you getting the extreme? does that come with 31's?

Recovery Points cost about $15 each at ARB and are an easy must do. Then as TjFire mentioned. An OME 2" lift (about $1100) MASSIVELY imporves offroiad ability and better on road too and a set of decent tyres 31x10.5r15 (i'd suggest Goodyear MT/R's but it depends how offroad biased you want them). Throw some quick discos in (about $200-300) and your set with a GREAT perfoming jeep.

Don't think so.... Think it is comming with standard tyres.... just fancy wheels...

Being so new to $x$ I am not sure about going for a lift... I mean there is a huge lift in going from a Subaru Outback to a Wrangler.... Should I crawl before I walk???

Really???? Thats food for thought then....

What tyres are the go??? And at what stage do I need a lift to incorperate them??

Also, How do you guys mount additional driving lights and make them reasonably difficult for light fingered ppl to remove??

mild upgrades as mentioned above will be worth getting 1st before bullbar & dont bother with sidesteps, they'll just get ripped off on the trails..

-lift $1000
-31's $800-$1000
-throttle body spacer $100
-k&n $120

then a snorkel

good luck, let us know how u go.
