Default multiple problems, need advice

So I bought a Jeep. It’s a 2004 Grand Cherokee Lerado CRD 155 kms. And ever since I bought a Jeep I have had problems, in the first 24 hrs the oil/water heat exchanger went and I seem to find new ones quite often. Anyway few that I would like some help with are
When accelerating slowly at around the 70-80 kph the car starts to hunt or surge, the rpm varies around 50-100 rpm and slowly accelerates but if I accelerate harder then no problems. I have read that this could be air in the fuel line due to o rings. If so does anyone have a post with pics of how to fix this. Im not great with tools or have much room but would like to try,
When in neutral and you give it a rev the rpm decreases fast to around 1400 where it hangs for a second or two then slowly decreases to 1000 where it hangs for about another 5 second before dropping to 700, ? any thoughts
Car also blows quite a bit of smoke on acceleration (as can be seen in the head lights of following cars), don’t know what colour the smoke is though,
The fuel gauge works most of the time but then randomly drops to empty and the light comes on. It may stay like this for 2 minutes or 15 minutes before slowly rising back to where it should be regarding fuel quantity.
I don’t know how many cranks it should take to start the diesel jeep but my brothers land rover starts after 1-2. So mine may start after 3-4 seconds of cranking, this does improve a little once warmed up. Also I find that when parked overnight and facing up a driveway it took longer to start, and yesterday it took about 30 seconds of cranking (not constant) to start to the point I thought it wouldn’t start.

That’s a start on the questions I have for the jeep forum. Any thoughts guys. Also I have done the key on and off thing and got codes, p0700, p0340, p0460, p0403.

should i sell it now

I believe your TPS (throttle position sensor) is shot, because its showing all the right symptoms.
However a CRD doesn't have a tps... Try the Crank Position Sensor, it'll give the Ecu a "permanent transmission fault" when it begins to fail, this subsequently directly effects your fuel/air allocation, idler behaviour and gear selection... Its also indirectly a member of your fuel sensor system, and because of its necessity to work out the position of the crank in order to time the ignition process, it will long crank until it gets several values approximate to its recorded values... thos slight timing as well as fuel air mixture fault will cause more than usual exhaust smoke... Sounds right like your problem? I'd look there

Ps they're 50-100 bucks

Re the cranking..... It's a diesel, not a petrol.
From cold, turn the key to ignition, leave it there till a light goes off on the dash..... Dunno with grands, it may look like a lightening bolt or zigzag shape typically. That's the glow plugs.
Once the light goes out, then start it normally.

turn the key on and off 3 times in a row, make sure you see the speedo reading then off do it quickly 3 times and you car will show the fault codes for your car and will give you a clue on whats wrong with the car.

Yes, sounds like the oil is still circulating to cool your turbo
You are in trouble if it stops
