Default WK2 - Rear knocking noise

I have a knock/ rattle in the rear which to me sounds like a crook shockie.
The dealer has confirmed the noise and has already replaced both shocker mounts as per tech bulletin 17-001-11 http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1700111.pdf
Has made no difference so has now ordered 2 new shocks.
Should be here any day now so watch this space. Anyone else had this problem?

Leo6151 has the exact same problem. He just put the post in the Sticky "WH common problems" as he was unsure of his model being absolutely brand new to the brand.

Hi Gecko 1949 I have wk2 my first new car/suv i have noticed a dull thumping sound from the back not all the time, sounds like a loose spair wheel meaning not a metalic sound like a dull thump sound. Does this seem similar to you problem?

Hi jjgc. It doesn't sound like the noise I have. Mine is an annoying knocking rattle which is there any time you are not on a smooth road (which is most of the time). It increases or decreases its intensity with the state of the road surface and is less noticeable as your speed increases (only because the road noise dulls it down). If you have ever had a car with a worn out shockie or shockie mounts you can't mistake it.
The truck is booked in next Tuesday for the installation of new shocks under warranty. I'll post the result here. I read on another forum that a guy with a similiar problem also had the shocks replaced but it didn't resolve the knock. The last I heard was he was "discussing"the matter with Jeep. Gecko1949 (Greg)

Just got the truck back with the new shockies installed. Bloody ripper it looks like it has solved the problem (touch wood).

STOP THE PRESSES FOLKS. Looks like the problem has not gone after all. Took the truck back to the dealers and had the mechanic check it out again. He agreed that the noise was still there. Coincidentally there was a similar vehicle to mine in the garage for a service so he decided to take it out for a run. You wouldn't believe it but not only did it have the same noise but it was louder than mine. Interestingly though it was not in for the noise but just a normal service. The mechanic, the service manager and myself then got together and it was decided in the first instance that they approach Chrysler Jeep with the problem and see what eventuates. Will give them a fair chance to respond and then follow it up as necessary. For a while there I thought it might have been my imagination but thankfully they all agree so a least that's a start. The saga continues.
