Would be easy with a single vehicle, not so for the multiple vehicle issue. You could still use my first idea but carry the power from battery to brake controller then to trailer.

I now run disc brakes from a BA Falcon on my camper trailer and has been much better than the electric brakes I once ran on it with different controllers over the years.

And the trailer is now registered.

This is the second trailer that I have use the Tow vehicle spring, shocks, bump stops and wheels. The first one was 25 years ago and a cj6 , Arrr good times.

Added the engine moving devise.
Need to add a support and a bit more bracing maybe.
I think I will try and incorporate the jock wheel as the load support for the hoist.

What do diffs and gearboxes weigh.
